WOMAN OF THE YEAR - OUT NOW

The effervescent buzz of ‘Woman of the Year’ layers a newly refined edge upon the raggedly irrepressible melodic charm with which The View made their name. Yet underneath its cheeky, punky indie-pop pleasure is a lyric that Kyle Falconer wouldn’t have written the first time around: the moment of waking up and realising that someone’s love not only makes life worthwhile, but that they’re also committed enough to be willing to navigate your own shortcomings.

Kyle says, “I think everyone gets down sometimes and this song is supposed to show the struggles at both ends. I wanted to convey a message of thanks to all the women who help the men, the kids, the colleagues, friends etc. Especially when they feel under appreciated. Watching what they do every day, often without complaining… it’s an unsung hero type of job multitasking so many different factors each day. It’s something I’m often in awe of.”
